about

This album was recorded in the awesome 2 inch tape based studio of Gary Flori in Denver Colorado in the spring of 1995. It was distributed in tape only form because people had cassette players in their cars and this is a really good album to crank in a car. This digital version was remastered by Denver's own musical genius, Nathan Arnett. We all have him to thank for this. This album has the original version of I Cried Like A Silly Boy on it, along with the original lyrics if anyone is curious. It also has the original and best version of the best song I've ever written, Satellites.
It also has two of Tom Sprenkle's coolest songs on it, Asteroids and Baby in A Blender. His new band, Fasters is really great.
This recording is now dedicated to Susan Gibson for obvious reasons.
I hope you enjoy it and if you can download it to something that you can listen to over and over and at really high volumes, like your car. Its best that way.

Track Name: Walking Snake
Clang Head waking then its never a party
Splinters from the plank putting tears in my eyes
Gritting my teeth and clenching my fists
Hasmouth blabbin' at me kissing his balls tonight
But when the butterfly bites the walking snake
Shrill shriek and the reeling drives a stake down
Into the throat of the dog who's howl will wake the dead!
I'm your tart, I'm your muffin bite me bite me tongue my blood
Looks like gold falling out of the sky
Swimming pools race cars Jet planes candy bars because
When the butterfly bites the walking snake
Shrill shriek and the reeling drives a stake down
Into the throat of the dog who's howl will wake the dead!
Track Name: Birthday
I don't feel like writing these down.
Track Name: Miss You
Lying here wishing it was different than it is
Knowing that it isn't
Simple things bring memories that knock me on my back
Reminded what I'm missing
Lonely bummer hits me when I'm sittin' on the crapper
Lonely bummer hits me when I'm watchin' TV
Its a pain in the ass gettin' hit when I'm not up for it
It's a pain in the ass!
Lying here bawling covering everything with snot
Bloating and deflating
Crap flying out of my conniption fit mouth
And I'm doing a lot of hating
Block colors
Tighty Whiteys
Brown hair
brown eyes
medium hight
medium build
no mood swings
no addictions
no vices
eat right
shit right
sleep well
act nice
crap what the fuck!
Anacin didn't work
Hash in Nevada didn't work
Cranking DeBarge didn't work
Carl Sagan didn't work
Quitting work didn't work
Nothing works, nothing works!
Tell me why I miss you so much.
Track Name: White Gas
You blacked out but who could blame you
shaking like a cramped leg trying to cram it all
Into to one thin day
snot nose zit face
Lose clothes head case
Waitin' waitin' waitin' for the summertime Saturday
Walking out on his own, heaven knows where he's going
Now he's got nothing rolling under his soles
But upstairs lights on bangin' pots and pans together
Keepin' white gas flowing onto the coals
Heart and mind hand in hand roll on little man
Worlds ahead are waiting to divide you up
But never mind heartache stiff truth and heartbreak
And things you gotta talk about will shut you up
Heading into the classroom shivering and breaking it out
Making nothing turn a laugh out from your friends
Smoking and heaving and hitting lotsa walls hard
Making fun of everything you're gonna to hit some dead ends
Your mouth is getting bigger your hearts getting smaller
That cocky shit you're swaggering could shrivel up and die
But don't let it bother you bang your head hail hail get it on!
Forget about the future!
Heart and mind hand in hand roll on little man
Worlds ahead are waiting to divide you up
But never mind heartache stiff truth and heartbreak
And things you gotta talk about will shut you up
Upstairs lights on bangin' pots and pans together
Keepin' white gas flowing onto the coals
Keepin' white gas flowing onto the coals
Yeahoooo!
Track Name: Moon In My Eyes
My friends are waiting; heavy shoulders slung lip
I'd walk the line if I could find it
Commands barked I can't follow: "Stand on one foot, touch your nose"!
I can't. I need to lie
I got the moon, the moon in my eyes
Laughing making fun of everything you stand for
My friends don't know I'm gonna spend the night with you
You got me why don't you stop riding me man?
My walk is bad
I've given up lyin'
I got the moon, the moon in my eyes
Lazy personality
Lazy direction
Comfortable and warm
Gropin' for the gears
Cold wood bench and a clean orange smock
I can't wait for coffee tomorrow!
My friends are waiting; heavy shoulders slung lip
I'd walk the line if I could find it
Commands barked I can't follow: "Stand on one foot, touch your nose"!
I can't. I need to lie
I got the moon, the moon in my eyes
Track Name: Roving Satellites
Out behind the high school a body lays in the lawn
At five AM the birds begin to chirp in the blueing of the dawn
No one sees this blackened skull, no one sees this blood
Glistening underneath the roving satellites
Downtown the stoplights get the flow moving as smoothly as they can
Its hard to get to work on time. It didn't used to be this way.
Knuckles clenching steering wheels and eyeballs going wild
And bugging out underneath the roving satellites
Up above the atmosphere a spacesuit floats around
A blueing forehead knocks against the visor but it doesn't make a sound
Clenching fingers harbor every anguish no one else will know
Floating alone up above the roving satellites.
Track Name: Ain't Drunk Yet
Broken legged guy got pills "here have a handful" life is just a cocktail party
on the streets, yeah yeah. Wobblin' around with my hands in my pockets gotta cranium full of rockets and i'm spinning out!
You know I ain't drunk yet, but I'm gonna get.
Generosity could kill me. I'm stupid and curious.
How many fuck-ups do you get before you can't get fucked up any more?
Rock and Roll nurse slipped and dumped out her purse
And I just happened to have my tongue on the floor.
And now I'm trying to walk but I can't even talk so what I said was: "Blugblurb" well...you know what I said; I said I ain't drunk yet, but I'm gonna get.
KEEP THIS AWAY FROM YOUR CHILDREN!
Brothers and sisters. Extra terrestrials. Stand back from the planet.
We're gonna have a good time!
I ain't drunk yet, but I'm gonna get!
Track Name: Flaming Venus Sandals
Fuck these lyrics. You write them.
Track Name: Lets Get Outta Here
Hot strong fire at the front of the club
Everybody runs to the back of the club
Only one door at the back of the club
Only one door and its all sealed up
Screaming and heaving and crawling around
Everybody's acting like popcorn
Cigarette smoke is getting muscled out
Or mingling with the heavier stuff
All of that pain, all of that anger
All of them pimples and curly hair
All of that make up and leather jacket
Swift as anything into the air
Stop your sobbing it aint your problem
Nobody knows where they went
Stop your sobbing unclench your fists
Everything's crispy now nothing's soft
They used to be breathing used to get worried
Used to get wrinkly when they took baths
Come on come on come on lets get outta here.
Track Name: I Cried Like A Silly Boy
He wrote you letters, like you cared
I know you didn't, you know you didn't
But still you ran your fingers through his hair
And he'd kiss you when you'd let him
Resiliency amazes me
She wrote me letters I didn't read
Don't know why I didn't
But she knows I didn't
Still I caressed her and sang her to sleep
And sometimes I'd tell her she looks beautiful
Resiliency amazes me
When I left you, I got on the bus
I knew I'd see you, you knew I'd see you
Still you cried and now I know why
Ain't it too bad, I loved you so much
Resiliency amazes me.
